About the Subject

Information Technology is a rapidly expanding and exceptionally diverse industry. Information Technology or IT mainly deals with computer applications. All our work-related applications are now completely automated, IT professionals are people involved in essential management of sensitive data, computer networking and software-engineering. It covers a broad spectrum of hardware and software solutions that enable organizations to gather, organize, and analyze data that helps them achieve their goals.

About the Department

Our Information Technology (IT) course will equip students with the technical skills and knowledge they need to succeed in this exciting profession. In order to equip students with the current advancements in the field of IT and to avail of better job prospects, the department also arranges for value added courses and workshops as follows:

  • Microsoft International certification course in Ethical Hacking and Information Security.
  • Certification course on Cyber Security & Advanced Mobile Programming wherein the students would also gain an opportunity of internships.

The Department works on the co-curricular aspects which organizes intercollegiate tech fest named as “ITECHNOTHON” which includes events like Gaming, Quiz’s, Debates, Various Competitions, etc. Students not only take part in academic activities but are also actively involved in co-curricular activities like NSS, Ananya, Kaleidoscope, College Day, Sports Day and many more. Realizing that the industrial visit is considered as one of the most strategic method of teaching, the department has organized trips to places like Bangalore, Jaipur, Pune, Silvasa etc. We also have well-equipped laboratories with high configuration computers and 100 MBPS Internet connection. Parent-teacher meetings are conducted regularly to discuss the progress of the students.

 

Curriculum Design

Autonomy reflects efforts for excellence in academic performances, capability of self-governance and enhancement in the quality of education. It gives us the freedom to frame our own syllabus based on industrial needs. A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (B.Sc. IT), is a Bachelor's degree awarded for an undergraduate program in the Information technology field. The degree is normally required in order to work in the Information technology industry. The B. Sc. IT degree program is of three years duration. This degree is primarily focused on subjects such as software, programming, databases, and networking. This degree is awarded for completing a program of study in the field of software development, software testing, software engineering, web design, databases, programming, computer networking etc.
